Their two shows at the Teatro del Sale, completely in Italian, were sold out weeks before the performance and were honoured with rapturous applause by the vivacious Florentines.

Salut Salon on world tour

Several concert tours have taken the quartet to the USA, Chile, Canada, Italy, Czech Republic, Scandinavia, Luxembourg, Austria and Switzerland.

Salon was selected in 2008 by the organisers of the “International Music Festival Shanghai” alongside stars such as Anne Sophie Mutter and Pinkas Zuckerman for a China tour and, at the invitation of the German Consulate General in China, the four musicians played in the famous Shanghai Concert Hall, where they were celebrated by an enthusiastic audience. A big Asia tour is planned for 2009, starting once again in Shanghai, but this time the tour will include destinations in Japan, Taiwan, Korea and Vietnam. The Shanghai organisers are to provide a further opportunity to see Salut Salon the following year on the occasion of EXPO 2010.

The “Cool Strings” and the benefit project in Chile

The musicians have been committed for a long time to enabling children and young people to experience the wonder of music. Their school orchestra, the “Die Coolen Streicher” (the “Cool Strings”) was awarded in 2004 by the then German Federal President Johannes Rau the prize “Inventio 2004” given by German Music Council for the most innovative music project in Germany.

For many years, in cooperation with charity organisation Kindernothilfe, Salut Salon has been additionally supporting a music school in Chile. For information on the Chile benefit project, please refer to our website “Chile Project”. In autumn 2008 Salut Salon are once again giving with "Die Coolen Streicher", numerous benefit concerts – including venues such as in the Hamburg Laeiszhalle and "BMW Welt" in Munich - and a joint tour of South America with the children is planned for 2009.
